Doug Henning helped to make this illusion popular on one of his television specials.
A mirror is shown on both sides. An audience member can tap the mirror to prove its authenticity. It is placed inside a drawstring bag. A large knitting needle in them poked through the mirror at various points, magically penetrating the glass. The magi then does the impossible. He bends the mirror in half; back and forth. When he removes the mirror from the bag, it is of course unharmed.
